Soft Tissue Laser

InfoStar Dental 1 uses a laser soft system to treat gum disease and other soft tissue problems. With the use of our soft tissue laser system, we can painlessly treat soft tissue (gum-related) issues such as periodontitis as well as perform more advanced procedures such as gum grafts. Give our Orangevale dental office a call at 916-988-2323 and learn how the use of a soft tissue laser can benefit you during your next visit.

Solea Laser Dentistry

We use a precision laser machine, called a Solea, instead of drills, to do procedures like fillings. With lasers, there are fewer surfaces to disinfect and less spray is created. Solea is also more quiet than a drill, not to mention virtually painless. Learn more about Solea here.

Sterilization

We use a powerful autoclave to sterilize equipment and dental instruments. This helps to safeguard against germs and contamination.

Sterilization Machine

ActivePure

We installed this air scrubbing system in our HVAC system, so it cleans the air for our entire office. The ActivePure converts microscopic oxygen and water molecules in the air into powerful oxidizers that destroy contaminates like fungus, mold and bacteria. ActivePure is the only air cleaning technology awarded the prestigious Space Technology Seal of Approval by the Space Foundation, which was created in cooperation with NASA. Read more about ActivePure here.

Air Abrasion

Whenever possible we use air abrasion rather than a drill. Air abrasion takes less tooth structure than a drill. Air abrasion also eliminates vibration, noise, and the odor associated with a drill procedure.

Your tooth can then be filled with a strong chemically bonded material that can be matched to the color of your tooth making it appear nearly invisible. Tooth colored fillings are beautiful in appearance and can be completed in a single visit.

Biophotonic Scanner

The Biophotonic Scanner is a revolutionary tool that measures the carotenoid antioxidant levels in your skin. In comparison to other methods of measuring antioxidants, this scanner provides a more accurate and reliable marker of your overall antioxidant health status.

BioSure

This system uses ozone (aka oxygen, not harsh chemicals) to "supercharge" our water with a sterilizing effect. Basically, the water becomes infused with anti-microbial and anti-viral properties. Read more about BioSure.

CariVu Caries Detection Device

CariVu is a portable cavity detection device that illuminates the teeth in order to detect not only cavities, but lesions and cracks.

CariVu images are read just like your normal x-rays and is safe for children as well as patients who are pregnant.

Early detection is key. During routine dental check-ups, the Carivu device can catch early states of arising issues, therefor we can determine the appropriate course of action and get treatment started early.

Cavitron

A cavitron is a dental tool that uses high frequency sound waves to clean teeth. These high frequency sound waves remove plaque, tartar, and bacteria from your teeth and gums. Water is then used to flush it all away leaving your teeth clean.

VELscope

The VELscope is an FDA approved device that aides in the early detection of oral cancer. This is a pain-free, non-invasive procedure where a safe blue light is emitted into the patient's mouth. The dentist is able to immediately view different fluorescence responses to help differentiate between normal and abnormal tissue.

Oral cancer when detected early has a greater chance of successful treatment. Most people are not aware of this disease until it has presented itself as a problem and by then it has progressed extensively.

We recommend yearly screenings for adults, especially denture wearers and smokers.

Vida Shield

These ceiling-mounted units purify the air with UVC (Ultraviolet C) light, which has long been used in hospitals to kill bacteria, viruses and mold. Our office air is constantly circulated through the Vida Shield units, where it gets zap-cleaned with UVC light. Read more about how the Vida Shield works here.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography

CBCT stands for "cone beam computed tomography". This is a particular x-ray machine that is used in situations where standard x-rays are not sufficient. The CBCT uses advanced technology which allows us to view 3D images of a patient's dental structure, soft tissues, bone and nerve pathways within the face and mouth. These special x-rays allow for precise treatments to be put in to effect due to its high quality images and the details within. When the CBCT x-rays are called for, we ask that patients wear comfy and loose fitting clothing and will have to remove any type of metal that can interfere with the scan itself. This includes but is not limited to; jewelry, hairpins, underwire bras and glasses.

Some of the most common procedures in which the CBCT is used are:

  • Impacted teeth
  • Locating oral pain
  • Evaluating jaws, nerves, nasal cavity, and sinuses
  • Reconstructive surgery
  • Implant placement
  • Diagnosing TMJ

CEREC Omnicam

CEREC Omnicam is optimized for powder-free scanning of natural tooth structures and gingiva. Simply place the camera over the relevant area and the scan starts automatically. The elimination of a powder coating means that the scanning process is faster and easier. Full-arch and half-arch scans can now be performed more conveniently and quickly than ever before.

It is impressive to see the 3D model displayed in full color on the monitor. The various surfaces are shown in their natural shades. This direct and realistic feedback helps to distinguish between amalgam, gold or composite fillings and other subtle problems in the mouth.

CEREC Omnicam

Dental Microscope

With the use of our high powered dental microscope we are able to see dental anomalies such as cracks and fractures which may not otherwise be seen.

It also allows us to perform microdental procedures thus saving precious tooth structure. This allows us to follow our commitment towards conservative dentistry.

Digital Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic x-rays offer patients a complete detailed image of the entire mouth including the teeth, jaw (upper and lower), sinuses, and TMJ.

It provides a complete picture on how everything looks and relates to each other.

Digital Panoramic X-Rays

Digital X-Rays

Our office uses the latest in digital x-ray technology. Digital x-rays offer a detailed image of your entire mouth and also offer up to 80% less radiation than traditional film x-rays.

X-rays play an invaluable role in the diagnosis of dental problems, as well as provide a clear picture for a dentist to accurately diagnose and provide the necessary treatment.

We place a small sensor in your mouth. The sensor is connected to a computer by a thin wire. Next, an x-ray beam is sent through your teeth and into the sensor, which records the image of your teeth and sends it to the computer. The sensor can then be repositioned to image other sections of your teeth.

The digital dental x-ray system is more sensitive than dental x-ray film systems, so your exposure to x-rays is cut by as much as 90 percent. The large and color-enhanced images let you see what your dentist sees, so it's easier for you to understand how your dentist will treat your teeth. Your dental checkups take less time, and it's fun to watch this system work! Most patients are amazed.

Diode Laser

The Diode Laser is a great tool for shaping the gums and removing bacteria from the periodontal pocket, the space between the gums and tooth. Dental cleanings performed with diode laser therapy significantly improve the success of healing the gums.

Inflammation, bleeding, pocket depths, and the amount of bacteria are all greatly reduced as opposed to just scaling and polishing the teeth alone. Best of all, laser therapy has been shown to improve circulation and increase the components that speed healing, referred to as Biostimulation. With any oral procedure or surgery, Biostimulation reduces pain and swelling and can help your mouth recover more quickly.

Endoscope

Endoscopy has enabled medicine to make great headway in disease diagnosis and therapeutic procedures by allowing visualization and the ability to repair injuries with minimally invasive surgical techniques. This video technology has continually advanced and has lead to the development of endoscopes of 2 mm and less which allows further access into smaller cavities and anatomical spaces of the body.

Extra-Oral Dental Suction System

During dental treatment, saliva droplets and aerosols are produced by high-speed handpieces and ultrasonic scalers, putting the procedure and our staff at risk of infection.

Our new Extra-Oral Dental Suction System removes these droplets and aerosols effectively. This greatly reduces risk of infection and keeps the air in the op-room clean and safe.

Film X-Rays

The goal of dental radiography is to obtain diagnostic information while keeping the exposure to the patient and dental staff at minimum levels. We know that x-rays, in sufficient doses, may produce harmful effects in human beings. However, we do not know the size of the risk (or even if there is any risk at all) from small doses of x-rays, such as those used in dental radiography.

It is the consensus of dental radiologists that the dosage from dental x-ray exposure is not harmful. However, the absence of conclusive proof that establishes the absence of risk means we must assume that there is the potential of some risk from diagnostic exposure.

Film X-Ray of teeth

High-Volume Suction

If germs can’t get into the air, then they can' spread to others. We use one of two high-volume suction systems (depending on the patient and the procedure) to gently pull any saliva from your mouth before it can circulate in the air.

i-CAT

The i-CAT 3-D dental scan system is well in advance of any x-ray system. The i-CAT provides 3-D images of the teeth, jaw, sinuses and skull structure in 1/20th of a second with significantly less radiation than a medical CT scan.

The 3-D scans from the i-CAT provide anatomically accurate data and surgical predictability for:

  • Implant placement
  • Impactions
  • TMJ analysis
  • Airway assessments
  • Panoramics
  • Cephalometrics
  • Orthodontics
  • Orthognathic surgery

iPlus

Waterlase Dentistry is one of the most advanced dental technologies available today. It was developed by BIOLASE technology, the leader in dental lasers. BIoLASE dental lasers have been used to treat millions of patients.

A Waterlase laser creates special, highly concentrated light energy, and sends it through an optical fiber to its handpiece. your dentist uses the handpiece to aim the laser energy at precisely the areas to be treated. Some laser systems combine the laser energy with a gentle spray of water.

Waterlase Dentistry was developed specifically to repair decayed and damaged teeth, and treat gum and other soft tissue in the mouth safely and comfortably. It can be harmful to eyes, however, so you, your dentist, and anyone else in the treatment room when the laser is being used must wear special protective glasses.

Advantages of PRP

  1. PRP is a by-product of the patient's own blood; therefore, disease transmission is not an issue.
  2. PRP can be generated in the convenience of your doctor's office as a outpatient surgical procedure.
  3. PRP promotes faster tissue regeneration.
  4. Since PRP harvesting is done with only 55cc of blood in the doctor's office, the patient need not incur the expense of the harvesting procedure in hospital or at the blood bank.

Frequently Asked Questions of PRP

Q: Is PRP safe?
A: Yes. During the outpatient surgical procedure a small amount of your own blood is drawn out via the IV. This blood is then placed in the PRP centrifuge machine and spun down. In less than 15 minutes, the PRP is formed and ready to use.

Q: Is PRP be used in all bone grafting cases?
A: Not necessarily, however, as with most cases the application of PRP to a graft will increase the final amount of bone present in addition to making the wound heal faster and more efficiently.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: The cost of a PRP application is approximately $600. Unfortunately most insurance plans do not cover PRP and the expensive is paid by the patient.

Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet rich plasma (PRP), a by-product of blood (plasma), is rich in platelets. PRP permits the body to take advantage of the normal healing pathways at a greatly accelerated rate. During the healing process, the body rushes many cells and cell-types to the wound in order to initiate the healing process. One of those cell types is platelets. Platelets perform many functions, including formation of a blood clot and release of growth factors into the wound. These growth factors function is to assist the body in repairing itself by stimulating stem cells to regenerate new tissue. The more growth factors released into the wound, the faster the healing. PRP promotes healing in bone grafting for dental implants, onlay and inlay grafts, sinus lift procedures, ridge augmentation procedures, and closure of cleft, lip, palate defects, repair of bone defects creating by removal of teeth or small cysts, and the repair of fistulas between the sinus cavity and mouth. This is of great significance to the surgeon who places dental implants. By adding PRP your implant surgeon can now grow bone more predictably and faster than ever before.

REME Halo

How it works

The REME HALO® in-duct air purifier utilizes RGF's proprietary Reflective Electro Magnetic Energy technology. Installed into the supply plenum of your existing air conditioning or heating system air ducts, the REME HALO® in-duct air purifier produces Hydro-Peroxide plasma that is distributed through the air handler, through the duct system and into the conditioned living space. Unlike passive air technologies, which need pollutants to pass through the unit for purification or filtration, the REME HALO® in-duct air purifier sweeps through your home actively purifying pollutants at the source. In addition, the charged plasma induces particles to coagulate or stick together making them bigger and easier for your filter to catch. Hydroperoxides occur naturally in the earth’s atmosphere and are part of nature’s process of cleaning the air.
